Dough Pack

P2P Lending made easy.

UI/ UX Website Design

Dough Pack is an independent P2P (Peer-to-peer) lending system, aimed to create a fair and just platform to solve students and young adults' financial difficulties. Through the credit scoring mechanism and risk assessment of the platform, both borrowers and lenders can freely cooperate and help each other on the Internet.

Role

I worked as the UX designer in this project and had frequent discussions with the back-end engineers to complete the task.

The Problem

Although there are plenty of crowdfunding platforms existing on the Internet, the majority of projects launched on these platforms are often made by young adults in design-related fields, such as product designs or illustrations. However, we believe students involved in non-design related fields also have dreams and projects that they want to pursue, so we want to provide a platform and give a hand to those people in need.

Issue

The Personal Dashboard was the most challenging page to design, in order to present each data clearly to the users and allow them to follow up with their personal investments, I researched through multiple websites and tried to come up with the best way to present informations.

Kickstarter Dashboard

Patreon Dashboard

Kickstarter

The Kickstarter Dashboard integrated with Google Analytics, which integrated all the information on a single page, including pledge totals, page views, etc. The information provided are overwhelming to show all at once.

Patreon

The Patreon Dashboard uses bar graphs to let users view earnings throughout a year. The information shown are way less, comparing to those of Kickstart's, making it easier for users to examine.

Kickstarter and Patreon are the top two most popular crowdfunding platforms in the United States, I took them as models, though not entirely the same, their goals and concepts are similar to Dough Pack.

The dashboard shown on Kickstarter and Patreon are kind of stiff and unlikely, even though the pie chart and bar graphs helps to make information easier to understand, but we think it isn't sufficient in simplifying all the information. Also, in order to let our users feel more encouraged in participating the investing activities on the platform, we wish to add in more animation and a reward system onto the website.

From the Landing Page to Personal Dashboard, I made multiple animations GIFs to convey my design ideas to the engineers.
